Plateau: Female University graduate volunteers to clear street refuse in Jos

A 27-year-old Bingham University graduate, Miss Joy Reyesi has announced plans to start volunteer waste clearing exercise in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.  Miss Reyesi took to her social media pages, Tuesday to call for volunteers to join in "keeping Jos clean."  "So I have decided to clear these refuse heaps in Terminus (Jos commercial area). Anyone interested in joining should DM me. This is no joke," she wrote on her WhatsApp status.  Asked on the rationale behind it, the celebrated fashion designer said she realized she could contribute in saving the environment rather than waiting on government.
"I just thought to myself that instead of always complaining and waiting on the Government, why don't I do this as my own contribution," she said. The 2013 graduate of Mass Communication revealed that the exercise would commence May 4, 2019, repeating at least once every quarter.  "It's going to last till we are able to clear the heaped dirt.
"Hopefully we finish on the same day, it all depends on the resources and volunteers we are able to gather.
"Since it's just the beginning, our growth (volunteer size) would determine how often it will be," Miss Reyesi stated.  She however explained that she would require a donation of trucks to help carry the refuse away while she and other volunteers do the parking.
Miss Reyesi can be reached on 07032844063 for further details and partnership.
