KAICIID Nigeria Fellows Alumni Round Table with Bloggers & Social Media Influncers (Photos)

KAICIID Nigeria Fellows Alumni held a Round Table Dialogue/Training on "social media as a space for Dialogue".


Held at the prestigious Ajuji Hotel, Abuja on Wednesday, 11th March, 2020 with participants drawn from different parts of the country as well as 13 members of the KAICIID Nigeria Fellows Alumni.

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue, globally known by its abbreviation, KAICIID, is an inter-governmental organization that promotes inter-religious dialogue to prevent and resolve conflict. KAICIID centers on promoting and employing interreligious dialogue (IRD) to support conflict prevention and resolution, sustainable peace and social cohesion; to promote mutual respect and understanding among different religious and cultural groups; and to counteract the abuse of religion to justify oppression, violence and conflict.

The program was a Round table Dialogue with bloggers and social media influencers to create familiarity and collaboration to tackle hate speech on social media and promote peaceful coexistence.
KAICIID Communication Expert from Egypt, Ayman Salah, delivered a well rounded lecture on social media a space for dialogue, giving more insight on the power of social media and how it is shaping the future both in communication and information. 
Dr Nurudeen Lemo also went on to talk about interrilligious and intercultural dialogue with social media influncers and bloggers. The session of discussions was ended with a resolution for an immediate action plan to help combat hate speech in Nigeria
